Launch and connect

Open Ghost FTP, enter your server details in Quick Connect or save them in Site Manager, and start transferring files securely.

Installation instructions

Choose the right package for your system.

Windows

GhostFTP-Windows-x64-Setup-v0.99.7.exe

Windows 10 or newer · 64-bit · 200 MB free space

  1. Download GhostFTP-Windows-x64-Setup-v0.99.7.exe.
  2. Open the file from your Downloads folder.
  3. If Windows asks for confirmation, select “Yes” to allow installation.
  4. Follow the installer: accept the terms, choose a folder and select “Install”.
  5. When complete, select “Launch Ghost FTP” and click “Finish”.
  6. Current Windows builds are not yet Authenticode-signed, so Windows may show a reputation warning. Verify the published SHA-256 checksum before running the file.

macOS

Apple Silicon (arm64) / Intel (x86_64) · v0.99.7 DMG / ZIP

Choose the correct DMG for Apple Silicon or Intel. Apple Silicon ZIP is also available. Check macOS compatibility and installation requirements before installing.

Linux

RPM · standalone x86_64

For Linux x86_64, choose the RPM package or standalone executable. DEB and AppImage files are not included in this release bundle.

  1. RPM: for Fedora, RHEL-family and compatible RPM-based x86_64 distributions. Use your distribution package manager.
  2. Standalone: for advanced/manual deployment; mark the binary executable and ensure required desktop runtime libraries are installed.

Verify before installation

Download installers only from this website. Every release includes a SHA-256 checksum so you can verify that the file has not been modified.

Your passwords stay yours

Server credentials are encrypted and stored locally on your computer. They are never sent to us or third parties, and you can use an SSH private key instead.

Encrypted by default

Ghost FTP supports SFTP and FTPS, which encrypt all traffic end to end. Use unencrypted FTP only when you know it is safe.

No tracking or unnecessary cloud

The app does not collect data about your files or servers. Anonymous analytics are disabled by default and can remain permanently disabled in Preferences.
